Ten healthy drinking tips to help you through festive occasions.
Keep healthy this festive season and try our ten healthy drinking tips:
- Have one to two alcohol-free days a week - all year, and especially when the Christmas parties start!
- Drink light beer
- Set a limit to your drinking time
- Don't drink on an empty stomach - eat before and during drinking
- Start with a juice or soft drink to quench your thirst
- Drink slowly and don't top up drinks
- Refill your own glass
- Have water or other drinks in between alcoholic drinks
- Avoid shouts and drink at your own pace
- Do something else while you drink - have a meal; play a game of pool or cards
